MARINA Press Release —

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) will open another Seafarer’s Identification and Record Book (SIRB) or the Seaman’s Book processing center at the SM City Bacoor in Cavite on Tuesday, 30 October 2018.

MARINA Administrator Rey Leonardo Guerrero said the opening of the SIRB Center in SM City Bacoor will be another huge step for promoting the comfort of Filipino seafarers, especially those who live within the Calabarzon area in the processing of their seaman’s book.

The opening of satellite Seaman’s Book processing centers in various areas in the country is one of the initiatives of the MARINA to bring public services closer to maritime stakeholders, specifically to Filipino seafarers.

To date, the MARINA has already opened three seaman’s book satellite processing centers within Metro Manila — at the SM Mall of Asia, SM City Manila, and at the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) central office in Ortigas.

Aside from the opening of the SIRB processing center in SM City Bacoor, Cavite, additional satellite processing centers will soon open in SM City North Edsa; SM Southmall, Las Piñas, and SM City Cebu. This will be made possible through MARINA’s partnership with the SM Prime Holdings Inc., one of the largest integrated property developers in Southeast Asia and the largest chain of shopping malls in the Philippines.
