The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) convened the 5th Inter-Agency Technical Working Group (TWG) Meeting on the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS) last 08 March 2021 via videoconferencing.
Spearheaded by the Officer-In-Charge of the Overseas Shipping Service (OSS), Ms. Precila C. Jara, the TWG reported about the Philippine Maritime Strategy on the Implementation and Enforcement of Relevant IMO Instruments for 2020-2024 (IMSAS National Work Programme), status of corrective actions per agency during the last IMSAS Mock Audit and creation of an assessment team to further the concluded mock and verification audits and schedule of IMSAS Activities for 2021.
The IMSAS TWG Meeting was attended by the representatives from the Department of Transportation (DOTr), MARINA, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), Office for Transportation Security (OTS), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR – EMB), National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), and National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
