The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), through the Overseas Shipping Service (OSS), convened an Inter-Agency Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting on the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS) at the MARINA Board Room, Port Area, Manila on 23 April 2024.
Spearheaded by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Assistant Secretary for Maritime, Atty. Julius A. Yano, and with the assistance of the Officer-in-Charge of the Overseas Shipping Service (OSS), Ms. Precila C. Jara, as the Head of the IMSAS Secretariat, the meeting considered the inputs of the Foreign Consultant vis a vis the inputs of the member agencies in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action Plan (CAP) that were drafted during the Inter-agency Workshop on IMSAS held in March 2024. These were finalized and approved except for some parts which will be further reviewed by the concerned cluster group, especially on the activities and timelines to complete the CAP.
The IMSAS Inter-agency Technical Working Group Meeting was attended by the IMSAS National Consultant, Mr. Jose Venancio Vero, and representatives from the DOTr, MARINA, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Cebu Port Authority (CPA), Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), and National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA).
