Paranaque City, 01 June 2024 – The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) recently marked its 50th anniversary by honoring its long-standing commitment to the maritime industry and recognizing the invaluable contributions of its media partners and industry personalities.
One of the highlights of the event was the awards ceremony where MARINA recognized The Manila Times as the “Media Partner of the Year.” Meanwhile, the award for “Maritime Journalist of the Year” was bestowed upon Ms. Carmela Huelar of The Manila Times and Ms. Roumina Pablo of PortCalls, acknowledging their exceptional reporting and dedication to maritime journalism, as well as helping the MARINA in disseminating its news and information to the general public.
In addition to these top honors, several esteemed journalists and industry figures received certificates of recognition for their significant contributions to maritime reporting and advocacy:
