LOOK: A significant step towards improving maritime governance and service delivery in Sarangani Province was taken today, 17 December 2024, as the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Regional Office XII (MRO 12) and the Municipality of Glan formally inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to establish the MARINA-Glan Satellite Office.

The partnership aims to streamline access to crucial maritime services for local stakeholders, including seafarers, fishing communities, and maritime businesses. With the satellite office set to open in the first quarter of 2025, residents of Glan and surrounding areas will benefit from a wide range of services, such as vessel registration, renewal of safety certificates and licenses, and among others.

Engr. Bernardo A. Pollo, Regional Director of MARINA XII, and Mayor Victor James B. Yap, Sr. of Glan Municipality, signed the MOA, signifying their commitment to enhancing maritime safety and efficiency in the region.

This initiative is expected to boost the local maritime industry by providing timely and accessible services, ultimately contributing to the economic growth and development of Sarangani Province.
