LIBJO, DINAGAT ISLANDS – The Maritime Industry Authority Regional Office XIII (Marina Caraga), led by Regional Director Ninfa Dominguez-Martinez, conducted the second leg of its Maritime Safety Culture Awareness Campaign Caravan on 11 February 2025.

The campaign is a key initiative under MARINA’s ten-year Maritime Industry Development Plan (MIDP 2019-2028), aimed at strengthening maritime safety awareness through partnerships, town hall meetings, and information dissemination.

The event commenced with a motorcade through Libjo, participated in by local government officials, representatives from the Philippine Coast Guard, and members of the shipping industry. A highlight of the activity was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MARINA and the Local Government of Libjo, reinforcing commitments to maritime safety and regulatory compliance.

The campaign highlights MARINA’s continuous efforts to strengthen a safety culture within the maritime sector, ensuring the protection of lives, vessels, and marine resources.
