The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) recorded a 26% decrease in the number of complaints filed through the 8888 Citizens Complaint Center (CCC) in 2024, based on a report letter from the Office of the President.
It should be noted that MARINA received 231 complaints in 2023 compared to 171 in 2024, reflecting the agency’s ongoing efforts to streamline processes, enhance customer service, and address public concerns more effectively.
Reaffirming its commitment to responsive governance, MARINA achieved a 100% resolution rate for all citizen complaints, demonstrating its dedication to service excellence. Notably, 84.21% of these cases were resolved within the mandated 72-hour period set by the Office of the President.
The 8888 CCC serves as a crucial platform for citizens to report inefficiencies, corruption, and service-related concerns.
MARINA’s consistent performance in complaint resolution and the steady decline in complaints highlight its proactive approach to improving maritime services and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
