To strengthen regional operations and improve service delivery, the MARINA Regional Office I and II Regional Director, Engr. Jedini Nur A. Sibal visited the MARINA Pangasinan Extension Office on 16 May 2025.

The visit marked the formal turnover and inspection of new Information Technology (IT) equipment to enhance the office’s operational capabilities. The deployment supports MARINA’s digitalization and decentralization drive under its 10-Year Maritime Industry Development Plan (MIDP).

“This is part of our commitment to make MARINA services more accessible, more efficient, and more responsive to the needs of every maritime stakeholder—from the smallest fisherfolk to major industry players,” said Director Sibal.

The newly delivered IT resources include workstations, network devices, and software systems expected to improve transaction processing, digital recordkeeping, and coordination with regional and main offices. These upgrades aim to boost frontline services such as documentation, licensing, inspection scheduling, and stakeholder engagement.

During his visit, Director Sibal also met with personnel to assess ongoing operations and identify potential improvements. He emphasized the importance of digital infrastructure, capacity building, and transparent governance in delivering inclusive maritime services.

The MARINA Pangasinan Extension Office plays a key role in MARINA’s outreach in Northern Luzon, catering to the regulatory and administrative needs of the region’s growing maritime sector. With enhanced IT capabilities, the office is now better positioned to meet increasing service demands while maintaining high standards of professionalism.

The visit also encouraged dialogue between MARINA leadership and frontline staff, reinforcing the agency’s push for regional inclusivity and responsive governance within the maritime industry.
