In an effort to ensure safety and efficiency in the maritime industry, the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) actively participated in a significant event focused on the revision of PCG MC No. 06-96, also known as the Salvage Regulations. The event, titled “Public Consultation on Guidelines in Conducting Towing, Salvage, and Wreck Removal Operations,” took place in the City of Manila on 11 May 2023.

Representing MARINA at the consultation were Atty. Sharon D. Aledo, Director of the Legal Service, and Engr. Ronaldo P. Bandalaria, Director of the Enforcement Service. Accompanying them were personnel from the Maritime Safety Services (MSS) and the Shipyards Regulation Service (SRS).

The consultation provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss and contribute to the revision of the Salvage Regulations. MARINA personnel actively engaged in the discussions, offering their expertise and insights to shape the guidelines for Towing, Salvage, and Wreck Removal Operations within the maritime sector.

MARINA’s participation highlighted the agency’s commitment to fostering collaboration and upholding the highest standards in maritime practices. By actively contributing to the revision process, MARINA aims to play a pivotal role in shaping regulations that govern the industry.
