MANILA — As the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) continues to push its plans, and projects for the industry, the agency has equipped its personnel in developing projects through a three-day Project Development and Management on 16 to 20 October 2023.

The training, participated by 45 personnel of MARINA Central Office, enabled them to have the knowledge and skills to manage and execute projects and activities, in time for the country’s push for the updated Maritime Industry Development Plan (MIDP) 2028.

Moreover, the workshop also equipped the Project Management Team (PMT) for the successful development of the projects’ procedures of initiation, planning, execution, regulation, evaluation, and closure.

In his message, Planning and Policy Service (PPS) Director Luisito Delos Santos cited, “With the ongoing implementation of the MIDP 2028, MARINA needs to capacitate the PMT in order to deliver their expected roles and responsibilities as the lead agency for the country’s maritime industry.”

The director furthered that “through the training, “we aspire to enhance the capabilities of our Project Management Team, preparing them for the successful development and implementation of project procedures.”

The three-day training was facilitated by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).
