The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) accompanies the OECD Peer Review Team during their shipyard visit in Cebu and Subic on 24-25 October 2024.
Two groups simultaneously conducted the shipyard visit in Cebu and Subic in relation to Peer Review for Philippine Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Industry led by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Shipbuilding Committee (OECD-SBC).
MARINA Deputy Administrator for Operations Nannette Villamor-Dinopol along with Shipyards Regulation Service Director Engr. Ramon Hernandez and Supervising Shipping Operations Specialist Engr. Nikko Ariel Non joined OECD Shipbuilding Unit Head Laurent Daniel in visiting the shipyard facilities owned by Tsuneishi Heavy Industries and Austal Philippines in Cebu.
Meanwhile, OECD Junior Policy Analyst Emilie Berger was accompanied by Shipyard Development and Licensing Division Chief Engr. Maria Teresa Mamisao and Senior Shipping Operations Specialist Engr. Jeremiah Perez during the field visit at Seatrium and Subic Drydock.
A separate stakeholders’ fora with concerned government agencies and private maritime stakeholders were also held in Cebu and Subic. The OECD Peer Review Team also visited Class C shipyards before the end of the mission on 25 October 2024.
