The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) extends its warmest congratulations to the Southern Institute of Maritime Studies, Inc. (SIMS) on the launch of its Bohol Branch today, 01 December 2024, in Baclayon, Bohol. As the first maritime training center in the region, SIMS Bohol is set to offer essential maritime safety and refresher courses, providing enhanced access to quality training for aspiring and active seafarers in the province.

MARINA Administrator Sonia Malaluan graced the occasion, alongside Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado, Alburquerque Mayor Don Ritchie Buates, and other distinguished guests. In her message, Administrator Malaluan said that with “the opening of SIMS Bohol will inspire more Boholanos to pursue careers at sea, become the country’s sailing ambassadors, and contribute to the economy and progress of the province.”
