The Maritime Industry Authority- Region VII (MRO7) successfully conducted a Mobile Registration, Renewal of Safety Certificates, and Modified Basic Safety Training (MBST) cum Gender and Development (GAD) Seminar in Poblacion, Panglao, Bohol, from February 5 to 7, 2025.

Led by MARINA Regional Director Annabell P. Lagas, with the support of Panglao Mayor Edgardo F. Arcay, the initiative aimed to provide essential maritime services to the local community.
A total of 223 trainees completed the MBST, followed by the Practical Assessment for Deck and Engine. Of these, 105 motormen and 118 BC1 trainees passed the assessment. MRO7 also processed 120 new motorbanca registrations and renewed 132 safety certificates.

The initiative highlights MRO7’s commitment to enhancing maritime safety and capacity-building in coastal communities.
