PUERTO GALERA, Oriental Mindoro—The MARINA Regional Office IV (MRO4), led by Engr. Rizal J. Victoria, successfully held the 3rd Maritime Safety Culture Awareness Campaign Caravan at Muelle Cultural Heritage Park, Poblacion on February 20, 2025.The event, themed “Ligtas Byaheng Dagat,” was organized in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Puerto Galera, headed by Mayor Hon. Rocky D. Ilagan.

The caravan focused on promoting maritime safety and preparedness, aiming to instill a culture of safety among coastal communities and maritime stakeholders. Key attendees included Philippine Coast Guard Sub Station Puerto Galera Commander PO2 Jose William N. Notario, Philippine Ports Authority Mindoro Officer-in-Charge Ms. Lunielyn Macariola, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and local Barangay Captains.

The event underscored the importance of a unified effort to ensure safe sea travel, involving government agencies, local authorities, and community members. MRO4 plans to continue its efforts to enhance maritime safety through ongoing awareness campaigns, comprehensive training programs, and strengthening community partnerships.
