Davao City—The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) officials visited the Davao Merchant Marine Academy College of Southern Philippines (DMMACSP) for a technical tour, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to ensuring high-quality maritime education and training on 28 March 2025.

During the visit, Chief of Staff Engr. Ronaldo Bandalaria delivered a message from MARINA Administrator Sonia Malaluan, underscoring the importance of collaboration between the government and private institutions in advancing maritime education.

“Today’s tour is a testament to the successful cooperative effort of the government and the private sector in providing quality and excellent education for Filipino seafarers,” the message read.

DMMACSP President Gloria Uriarte and Vice President Florence Alejandre spearheaded the tour, providing MARINA officials with an in-depth overview of the institution’s facilities, training simulators, and laboratories. They emphasized how these resources equip future seafarers with industry-standard competencies.

Leading the MARINA delegation were Chief of Staff Engr. Bandalaria, MARINA Regional Office XI (MRO11) Director Felisa Orongan, and Planning and Policy Service (PPS) Director Luisito delos Santos, alongside Service Unit Directors and all Regional Directors.
