With nearly a century of experience in shipbuilding, Astilleros Gondan Shipbuilders expressed their interest in participating in the Philippine maritime industry through the sharing of knowledge on shipbuilding technology before MARINA Administrator Sonia Malaluan during a meeting held on 20 February 2024.

The shipbuilding company showcased its high-standard quality ships and facilities in its shipyards, emphasizing its commitment to excellence.

The MARINA Administrator for her part, discussed the Agency’s campaign towards modernizing domestic ships, as well as fishing vessels.

Meanwhile, Cintranaval, with 60 years of experience in ship design, has presented its ships and the engineering solutions it provides to its clients. Cintranaval has carried out projects for over 600 ships, intended for shipowners from more than 30 countries.

This meeting highlights MARINA’s pivotal role as a catalyst for international partnerships and investments in the Philippine maritime sector. By facilitating discussions with shipbuilders, MARINA aims to drive economic growth, enhance infrastructure, and promote job creation.

The MARINA officials also invited the shipbuilding companies to participate in the upcoming events such as the 3rd National Shipyards Convention in Cebu City on 16-17 April 2024; and the 9th PHILMARINE 2024 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City on 19-21 June 2024.

Accompanying the Administrator was MARINA Chief of Staff, and Shipyards Regulation Service (SRS) Director Ramon Hernandez. From Astilleros Gondan Shipbuilders were Alvaro Platero, Owner & Chairman, along with Guillermo Martin, Chairman of Cintranaval; Javier Tudiri, Commercial Director of Cintranaval; Carlos Gastón, CEO of Lantai21 Partners; and Marivic Aquino, President of MVMA International.
