Felisa N. Orongan has been with the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) for almost thirty (30) years already. She joined the MARINA Regional Office XI (MRO XI) in Davao City as Clerk III and was one of the pioneer employees of MRO XI, which was established in 02 December 1988.
She rose from the ranks to her present position. She acted as OIC – Director of MRO XI starting 9 December 2013, and was appointed as Director II, effective 10 October 2014. After almost 4 years as the Head of MRO XI, she was assigned to her present post as Regional Director of MRO X, in Cagayan de Oro City effective 9 May 2017.
She was a recipient to various scholarship grants, thus has completed her Master’s Degree in Maritime Affairs – specialization: Ship Management from the World Maritime University in Malmo, Sweden in 2001; Diploma Course on Professional Shipping from the Norwegian Shipping Academy in 2000; and Master in Business Administration from the Ateneo de Davao University in 1995.
She is holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, major in Accounting, from the University of Mindanao in 1987 as a working student. She passed the licensure examination for Certified Public Accountants in October 1989, while already working with MARINA.
She is married to Denny G. Orongan, now a retired seafarer and currently into church ministry. They were blest with four (4) children, now all professionals, ages 35, 32, 30 and 26.
She strongly believes that being with MARINA is where God wants her to be, serving the maritime industry with sincerity and integrity, by the grace of God, for the praise and glory of His Name!
